Product Description
A compelling sequence from the best selling author of Night World!
Customer Reviews: Average Rating: 4.0/5
Disapointing....: Rating: 3/5
I wanted to read this book because i had seen the new tv series based on it and really enjoyed it so thought the book would be even better but in fact i much prefer the tv show and although the book is very different from the tv show story line the books a bit boring in comparison.
Transfixed and spellbound: Rating: 5/5
This being the first book in the series i rearly did not know what to expect, but as soon as i started to read it i just could not put it down.If you have ssen the series on the t.v. this is a lot better.
Definitely for young readers...: Rating: 2/5
Haven't watched the show, so didn't know what to expect.

A very YoUNG telling of the ever-increasing-in-popularity narrative of a girl that falls in love with a vampire. Would appeal to young teens I'd imagine, but as a mid-20s reader I couldn't read more than a hundred pages (I did persevere that far just to give it the benefit of the doubt, but unfortunately couldn't be doing with any more).

Vampire Dairies: Rating: 5/5
I am not a reader as such. I tend to get bored with books but after watching Vampire Diaries every Tuesday I was glued and aggitated, I had to wait a week to watch the next episode so I bought the books to help with my craving for the Vampire brothers. I couldn't put the books down. I absolutly loved them. They kept me in suspence all the way through. I was getting a little confused watching the series and reading the books at the same time as they seam to be completly different.
The books made me feel like I was in the world of excitement, romance, confusion, demons, villians, good vs evil. I would advise anyone who likes the Vampire theme to read these books. I am now in a state of shock after rushing through all the books and the series ending until the end of the year and the last Midnight book not being released until next year, I could cry. I have started with the New Moon book but it isnt gripping me and I find I would rather watch rubbish on the tele than to pick it up and read it, maybe its just me and I will give it a go when I have time, unlike Vampire diaries, I was reading it when I was cooking, I couldn't go to bed with reading a couple of chapters, I picked it up every time I had a chance and its quite hard with a 16mnth child running a mock, but I did, every little nap meant a couple of chapters. I can't wait for the last book.
Couldn't put it down!: Rating: 5/5
I'm a bit surprised by some of the reviews here giving 2 stars etc... I'm baffled as I absolutely loved this book! i didn't notice any bad writing but then things like that don't usually bother me as I normally get sucked in the story and the writing itself hardly makes much difference.

I thought it was brilliant how at first I hated Elena and her self importance and how little by little i started to warm up to her. The way she changes through out the book is great as she realises that not everything is about her.
The best parts of the book is definatly about Elena, Bonnie and Meredith together. I love their little circle and the friendship they got. I have to say though that reading about the 3 girls was far more interesting than reading about Elena and Stefan... I found Stefan awful boring and weak, full of self pity to the point i wished elena would have slapped him! I much rather Damon...

All in all it's a great book and I think it's worth to at least give it a chance. i read all the bad reviews here before i read the book and I was worried I might not like it but how wrong was I... I'm glad i decided to give it a chance.
