| Product Description |
| Sea fishing requires a high degree of knowledge and skill. This book helps readers to turn occasional 'luck' into consistent success. It allows readers to: understand tides; know which natural foods different fish prefer; identify the types of seabed and coastal areas that shoals frequent; and, learn to use the correct tackle, bait and techniques. |
| Customer Reviews: Average Rating: 4.0/5 | | Not impressed: Rating: 3/5 |
| 25 years old and nobody has corrected the drawings of the blood loop knot... disappointing really, wish I'd seen the 2nd hand copy for 1p, I would have bought that instead. | | NOT properly explained: Rating: 1/5 |
| The title of this book is misleading as it does very little to enhance your knowledge of the sport. I am not an experienced sea fisherman, although I do know how to put a bait on a hook and throw it out. If you know how to do that, don't buy this book because you won't get much more out of it! A disappointment. | | Basic But That's Good!: Rating: 4/5 |
Bought this book despite some of the more negative bait-digging obsessed reviews previously.
Basic 1970s styled design with line drawings and text, but what more do you want or need? To many books are glossy, full colour and of little information. This one is the opposite being full of useful information, tips, guides and sound advice.
As a recent returner to sea fishing having not done so since my youth, it was good to brush up on forgotten techniques and jargon, refreshing my memory on many things. I also learned some new things.
In short, an excellent basic introduction to see fishing in a no-nonsense style with good information and a great price tag. | | Excellent: Rating: 5/5 |
| The book is basic but first class despite that. I keep four sea angling reference books and this is one of them. | | Very basic but reasonably useful: Rating: 2/5 |
| I was a little disappointed as the book just seems like a collection of notes on different types of sea fish plus some sections on rigs. This helped my basic knowledge but didn't really satisfy my desire to 'learn' about sea fishing - I was looking for tips and techniques for success. The nice picture on the jacket is not representative of the quality of the book which is pretty cheaply produced. I could not really recommend this book. | |
